USB Sticks

A Council in England has recently been fined £80,000 as one of their staff members lost an unencrypted USB device that had personal data of 286 school children on it.

Reminder

We strongly advise against using USB Sticks to store files. If there is a need to use removable storage, you should be using encrypted storage.

All staff laptops should now be encrypted, making them safe to take out of school.

For advice on encrypted storage or encrypting your laptop, please contact our Support Desk –
